Practicing Photography: Angles Of Light / by Johnny Michael

My cinematography class with Filmgate sent us out for a pretty simple task here. Photograph a subject with a light source coming from the back and another with the light source coming from the side.

I called upon the help of a little old friend and headed for views of Biscayne Bay around 8 am. Both of these shots were captured on my Canon t3i with the Macro kit lens at f3.5, 1/640, iso 100.

I also tested out my ND filters for the first time. Such a simple, affordable tool to amp up my photography hobby and continue getting better on a budget. Although super rookie mistake, I forgot to charge the battery on my camera, and I had only enough power for 3 shots. Had to nail it. 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.
