New work : Corteva Heart Of Nature Guided Meditation / by Johnny Michael

I always said if I had a superpower, it would be the ability to calm people down. The truth is, a lot of us already have that superpower. We just need to train it like a muscle in our minds and let it inspire the energy and people around us. I especially like this Heart of Nature meditation series because it’s an idea that aims to help people find a little inner peace from an unlikely source — a big agriculture company.

Meeting and working with Praveen in India during the Heart Of Science series shoot was a true joy for me. When an old idea resurfaced to create a meditation series by Corteva Agriscience, I knew Praveen was the perfect man for the gig. What better way to humanize the company than to use an employee within the organization who was a trained mediation guide? Circulated to the 20,000 plus Corteva employees, the idea brings forth a much-needed element of calm during crazy times and helps shape the brand of Corteva as a human-centered company.

While I developed the original concept and wrote initial specs to set this project into motion, I left the Corteva project before this fully came to fruition. Nonetheless, I’m glad to see it come to life, bringing light and calm to people who may stumble across it. Lastly, there are great memories and a personal impact this project has had on my habits. Praveen thought it would be a good idea to rehearse and practice through these guided meditations so we had several training sessions that took place via Whattsapp from across the world. It made me feel as if I had my own personal meditation guru and soon after set me along on my own with a routine of daily meditation using the Headspace app, I even bought a zafu. Our sessions made me realize the full gravity of transferring calming human energy and how technology has enabled this wonderful force like never before. We have the right tools and the channels to reach people, we just need to create the right work and spread the light bright enough to reach everyone. Plus, it also gave me a fabulous excuse to wake up and put on that lovely garb from FabIndia.
