The Biltmore is a great place to play golf, eat, lollygag by a luxurious pool, get married and depending on your passions… practice architecture photography. From just about every angle it is elegant and stunning. While venturing around the grounds my thoughts tickled me at the simple pleasure of photographing buildings: they don’t move, you don’t have to tell it to pose, you don’t have to coordinate with it on when to show up, it doesn’t get tired — You just look for great angles and complimentary skies. Plus it’s a great exercise for me to get out and walk around. exploring the details, symmetry, arches, and beauty of this historic and wonderful place.
