Johnny Michael (that’s me) and the HIJohnny.com brand partnered with Andrea Hernandez of @PocketIllustrator to create an awesome little animation video and some feel-good fashion.
Tell me about this collaboration! You say?
Andrea is an awesome illustrator and I love her hand-drawn and heartfelt artistic style. I thought it’d be great to work together and create some friendly animation and merch based on her style. The work features little waving people, wave monsters and more. You can scroll and check all that out below.
Andrea was a complete joy to work with. I let her run with her imagination and the Hi. The result was super-fun and a fresh new look for the brand. The goal is to eventually partner with more artists who believe in the power of using fashion as a force of positivity and as fodder for human connection. With this collab, I have high hopes for more great partnerships like this in the future. I figure if I set a goal to create 100 partnerships with artists the brand would be in a really good place. The more the Hi brand can introduce itself and make new friends, the better footing it can find in the world. The key is finding more talented and pleasant people like Andrea who make working together fun and elevate the final result into something truly special you could never dream up on your own. Human connection is a spark that helps us create and be better.
