I like golf and I like filming stuff. I’ve said it once before, but it bears repeating now. Cue The White Stripes.
In my efforts to really master and take my Adobe Premiere Pro skills to the next level, it seems like I’ve spent most of the the past month chipping away at this gargantuan Skillshare course by Daniel Scott. It’s an absolute beast. But it’s packed full of easy to understand know-how which is essential for beginners like myself trying to get their wings in Premiere Pro. While I had already grasped the basics before diving in, it’s been extremely helpful to reinforce and learn new basic tips, functionality and shortcuts — all have which helped speed up the process and build my confidence within the program.
Yet I’m nowhere near where I want to be skill-wise, it’s inspired me to start tackling some new challenges where my editing skills need improvement. Animated type, creative color-grading and simple glitchy-type effects are definitely a new territory, and since I’ve been getting out to swing some golf clubs a couple times a week, it’s been a convenient way to collect some footage to play with. While text effects seem overwhelming with endless combinations and possibilities, I gathered a couple text effect tips from Jordy of Cinecom.net. Plus the upside of using golf swings is that I get to geek-out and analyze my swing while gobbling up online golf lessons. The quest to improve the golf game is an entirely different story. But if you’re into that sort of thing, I’ve been trying to stick with this Clay Ballard fella on Youtube. He makes a whole lot of sense when he talks about golf.
