To practice some gimbal moves and cinematography I scheduled some time with my good friend Stephan to capture the essence of his road bike enthusiasm. We wanted it to feel epic in a silly comedic way. While it isn’t much of a story, we made the best of some shots and I had some fun with the music and editing. And oh what a great view of the Brickell skyline. Shooting outdoors posed a few challenges. I struggled to change the aperture with the focus ring setup and I forgot to set my white balance. I also missed a few shots because they were out of focus, but overall I came away with enough ingredients to put something together. Without further rambling, here’s the thing I made!
The location called for a few quality portraits and my new Canon RF 50 MM lens is just about perfect for that. And for some reason this is the second time in a row I’ve been to this location and seen a low-budget rap video being filmed. It really is an iconic spot.
Lastly, Here are some initial thoughts and storyboard scratchings that were worked up before the shoot.
